簡単に金、銀の判別するのには試金石を使います。

試金石とは、貴金属を鑑定するときに使われる黒くて硬い石のことです。金だけでなく銀の品位判定にもこの試金石法が使われています。

試金石は別名でタッチストーンと呼ばれることもあり、金の品位を手軽に調べられる方法の一つです。

試金石法の手順は非常にシンプルになっており、まず調べたい金のサンプルと判定の基準になる手本金をそれぞれ用意します。

次に手本金とサンプルをタッチストーンへ擦り付けると金が黒い石の表面にうっすらと移ります。

そしてタッチストーンに移った金に濃硝酸を添加し変色具合を比較すると金の品位を調べることができるのです。
